Visit The Historical Place JAWI TEMPLE

At the time when I was in Junior High School, I had visited the historic place of Jawi temple. The location of Jawi temple is in Prigen, Pasuruan, East Java. Jawi temple is one of the temples located in Pasuruan.
According the history, Jawi temple is a temple built around the 13th century and is a historic relic of Hindu-Buddhist Kingdom Singhasari located at the foot of Mount Welirang, precisely in the village Temple Wates, Prigen District, Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia, about 31km from the city of Pasuruan. Jawi temple is widely thought of as a place of worship or a place of Buddhist worship, but is actually a place of sabharmaan of storage of ash from the las king of Singhasari, Kertanegara. Some of the ash is also stored on Singhasari Temple. Both of this temples have something to do with Jago Temple which is a place of King Kertanegara worship.
In Negarakertagama Pupil 56 mentioned that Jawi temple was founded on the orders of the last king of Singhasari Kingdom, Kertanegara, for a place of worship for the Shiva-Buddhist religion. The reason Kertanegara built Jawi temple away from the center of the kingdom is suspected because in this region the followers of the teachings of Siwa-Buddha is very strong. People in the area is very faithful. Although Kertanegara known as a famous king, he also has many enemies in the country.
I’m very glad to be able to visit the historical place which is very benefical. One of them is that we can recognize the historical relics of the previous kingdoms. We also have a responsibility to take care of it. I love it!
